“Every student should have an equal opportunity to succeed, despite where they begin their education.
While 81 percent of entering community college students indicate they want to earn a bachelor’s degree or higher, only 33 percent of entering students actually transfer to a four-year institution within six years (Horn & Skomsvold, 2011; Jenkins & Fink, 2016).
Only 14% of First Generation students completed an AA degree within 6 years. Only 13% pursued a Bachelors (Community College Research Center,2015)
According to the Education Trust “Charting a Necessary Path”, only 12 percent of minority community college students transfer to a four-year institution within four years of enrolling in a community college, and only 7 percent complete a bachelor’s degree within 10 years
